What can I say about the maestro Peter; he delivered an outstanding set from the beginning to the end, he had the whole audience captivated with the skill and precision displayed in his keyboard playing. He began his set with one of Kirk Franklins’ song ‘The Reason Why We Sing’. His performance was fused with all types of musical styles, jazz, reggae, classical, Latin and gospel to name a few receiving a standing ovation when he began to play ‘Jesus Name So Sweet’. Peter also included the other musicians who were on the stage with him giving them solo pieces in the middle of some of the instrumental medley’s he performed. Peter has completed his debut album that is available to purchase now and with the outstanding performance given at the concert this album will be a must to have in your collection.
Genevieve
It’s been some time since Genevieve performed live and it was well worth the wait as she was vocally on fire. She delivered a high packed set with dancers and professional backing vocals. This set was full of energy, vitality and certainly had everyone on their feet. Genevieve gave a professional performance yet still having the ability to show that she is a worshipper and psalmist at heart. Gen showed the gospel arena that professional gospel singers are live and kicking here in Birmingham and the likes of Genevieve could easily perform on the gospel circuit both here in the UK and US. Look out for Gen as I’m sure she will be asked to perform at many more venues across the UK.
Siani
This British trio began with ‘Gonna Be Alright’ the well known track from their debut album Love is. Siani gave a professional and well polished set showing both the gospel and secular arena that it’s no wonder that they have been nominated for different awards for their musical and vocal ability. These girls have been singing together professionally for a number of years now and this was evident on the night as they know how to engage with their audience and deliver high packed tunes that make you rock in your seats. Their final track that they left us with was the foot stomping ‘Love Is’ this was the tune that had everyone on their feet and grooving to the song and when they had finished the audience wanted more. If this is the first time you have heard them, then I would suggest you purchase their album as it has more hip hop r&b gospel tunes for you to enjoy.
